Senior Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician

Location: Geismar, LA
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $20.00–$25.00 per hour

DIHO Consulting USA is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician to join our team in Geismar, Louisiana.

This position is responsible for performing field testing and inspection of construction materials, including soils, concrete, asphalt, and pile monitoring, to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety requirements. Candidates with ACI, NICET, TxDOT, or Nuclear Gauge certifications are highly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field testing of construction materials, including:

    • Concrete slump, air content, temperature, unit weight, and cylinder casting
    • Soil compaction testing using a Nuclear Density Gauge or Sand Cone
    • Soil classification testing, including Proctor, Atterberg Limits, and sieve analysis (as applicable)
    • Asphalt density testing and pavement core sampling
    • Pile monitoring during installation, including blow counts, penetration, and capacity documentation
  • Prepare accurate, detailed, and timely field reports
  • Maintain testing equipment and follow quality control procedures
  • Drive safely between project sites while following company vehicle and safety policies
  • Communicate daily with dispatch, project managers, and clients regarding project status
  • Maintain professional relationships with clients and field personnel
  • Report to assigned job sites on time each day
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, laboratory, and operations teams

Requirements

  • Minimum of one (1) year of Construction Materials Testing (CMT) field experience
  • Valid Driver's License with a good driving record
  • Reliable transportation (truck preferred; company incentive available for approved truck use)
  • Ability to pass a DISA drug screen
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and an on-call schedule as project demands require
  • TWIC Card preferred
  • Ability to lift and carry testing equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
