Concrete Sawing & Drilling Operator
Job Description:
Position Summary
The Concrete Sawing & Drilling Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently performing concrete cutting, core drilling, wall sawing, slab sawing, hand sawing, and related demolition services. This position plays a critical role in maintaining ATIs reputation as a precision contractor for critical-path infrastructure projects.Operators are expected to execute work with high productivity, zero-incident safety standards, and strict adherence to project specifications.
Core Responsibilities Field Operations
- Operate slab saws, wall saws, core drills, wire saws, and hand-held cutting equipment
- Read and interpret project drawings, layouts, and field markings
- Perform precision cutting and drilling according to scope and tolerances
- Maintain proper water management and slurry control
- Protect surrounding structures, utilities, and finishes
- Perform equipment setup, teardown, and jobsite cleanup
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all OSHA regulations and ATI safety policies
- Participate in daily Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and toolbox talks
- Maintain 100% PPE compliance
- Ensure safe rigging, lifting, and material handling
- Immediately report hazards, incidents, or near misses
- Support ATIs zero-incident safety culture
Equipment & Asset Care
- Conduct daily equipment inspections
- Perform minor maintenance and troubleshooting
- Maintain cutting blades, bits, and tooling
- Report mechanical issues promptly
- Keep trucks, trailers, and equipment clean and organized
Productivity & Performance
- Meet or exceed production targets
- Minimize material waste and downtime
- Maintain clean, professional jobsite presence
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and clients
- Support crew efficiency and team collaboration
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years experience in concrete sawing and drilling (preferred)
- Experience with wall saws and core drilling required
- Valid drivers license (CDL preferred)
- Ability to lift 75+ lbs
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and travel as required
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work in industrial, commercial, and infrastructure environments
Preferred Experience
- Experience on bridge, industrial, or power projects
- Rigging and lifting certifications
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Experience working around energized environments
Physical Requirements
- Frequent lifting, bending, kneeling, and standing
- Exposure to dust, noise, water, and outdoor elements
- Ability to work in confined spaces or elevated areas
